A Few Things About Me . . .

• I’m a giant Harry Potter nerd and tend to re-read it one-three times a year.
• I love being in the great outdoors, where I never fail to find an adventure.
• I’m a hopeless romantic whose favorite trope is friends-to-lovers.
• I love reading. I don’t go anywhere without a book on hand (just in case).
• I write for the downhearted, the friendless, and the self-critic.
• I’m always up for making new friends, even if I’m the introvert in the corner (with a book, of course).

Most of my life, I’ve had a difficult time connecting with my peers. So I often turned to stories for my friends. As a child, I found my longest-lasting friends within the Harry Potter series. I’ve spent countless hours on adventures with Harry, Ron, and Hermione, delving into their world and finding a part of myself in each of these characters.

Encouraged by my family, I visited the library often and dreamed up my own stories and imaginary creatures during the lonely times at school. Then, when I was in seventh grade, my family uprooted and re-settled halfway across the country. Books became my haven and my escape.

A year of continued friendlessness and uncertainty reigned, and I began creating my own stories with pencil and paper. Fanfiction was a saving grace, allowing me to create new adventures with beloved characters while developing my storytelling skills.

High school brought new friends and things to do, but also encouragement for my writing. I have to give that friend group a lot of credit for getting me to where I am today: a writer who went to college to study the craft and came out with multiple completed drafts of a novel.

College brought new writer friends, a lot of information, and much self-discovery. As I learned, I kept writing, discovering more and more of myself within my own characters. Their adventures have helped me learn new things about myself. The friends I made in college still surround me today, always encouraging me to keep working on my craft and stories.

Since college, I’ve written new drafts, flash fiction, and short stories. I’ve discovered more of my process and finally feel like I might be closer to publication (maybe). Nowadays, I work as a full-time freelance editor, cuddle with my kitty, and continue to pen my stories in the hope that, one day, I can use them to reach the world and help the lonely souls who only need a friend. It's been a long and often difficult journey, but I'm glad I get to share the journey with you.
